Re: Room Acoustics Examined - Part One

Jeff Berryman, speaker system designer, in Toronto, has described Phil's interesting mirror/ reflection idea as: Imagine you are in a fully mirrored room, with a flashlight. Turn down the lights, get a tape measure, a protractor, and find the on-axis reflection points from the source locations/angles, at least......
Sadly, truly effective and predictable broadband absorbers/ diffusors have an extremely low spousal-approval factor. Best, to have a well-appointed man-cave, with bueno acoustic behaviour.

Re: Room Acoustics Examined - Part One

A very interesting and easy to understand video. I kind of have reasonable acoustic properties in my living room at the moment by accident really . I have a fireplace with a very uneven shape and surface right where the sound would be reflecting to me from the left speaker and bay with a book case, chair etc. where the right speaker would be reflecting.

It does actually sound very good, even though i'm currently using a rather old set of sony 5.1 speakers!

Looking forward to watching part 2!
