Sony 32FQ80 problem

Hi all,
I bought a Sony 32FQ80 last weekend.

When it stayed in standby mode for half an hour (or less) and I turn it on by remote (pressing P+ or a channel number), the picture comes in black&white for a second (or two) and then it goes to colour (normal) picture.

Is that a technical problem or a normal situation for this kind/brand of TV(s)? I don't have any problems other than this and afraid of getting a worse TV set if I replace it with another one.

I told this problem to the guy where I bought it and he said it may be caused from the antenna cable or antenna socket on the wall. I don't believe him but I bought a new cable today and will try it. If this doesn't work and the problem remains the same, should I replace this TV or live with it? If I live with it, could this problem go worse or remains the same?

I too have this model , however I dont get this problem .

What happens if you switch from standby to a AV channel?

If the colour returns after 1 or 2 secs like you say I would be tempted to live with it .

Hi Mansell.
Since I don't have any AV source, don't know if the problem occurs when switched to AV. I think 'll buy a home theater system next week, I'll try it.
