Panasonic TX-28DK1 AV3 no picture problem

The AV3 input on my TX-28DK1 panasonic TV has decided that it doesn't want to show any picture from my PS3 any more. The screen is completely blank. There is audio, and I have tried different cables and inputting the PS3 into both AV1 and AV2 with the scart adaptor and the image is fine on those channels. I have also input a DV camera, again sound but no image. Thus I think it must be the tvset rather than other equipment or cables. This problem arose seemingly overnight, is there a fix,or is my telly just old and tired?

With something plugged into AV3 and switched on try pressing the Red, Green and Yellow fastext buttons.

Thanks JayCee,
That didn't work unfortunately. I was all excited, but no. Any other ideas?
Many thanks

do you get a picture if you wriggle the scart lead? could have a dry joint on the socket if the other sockets are fine

Re: Panasonic TX-28DK1 AV3 no picture problem

Hey Carter,
There is no picture at all. The AV3 inputs arn't scart, it's the white red and yellow inputs. When I put them into a scart adapter the image and sound is fine. Thanks though.

Hi Snowyhyde, not sure if you've found the solution yet - I just found it on another thread - When you scroll to AV3 try pressing the right/left selection arrows. There is a difference between AV3 and S-VideoAV3.
Hope this helps (I nearly sent my 5 month old panny off for repair).

Gar

Hi,

Did anyone manage to solve this problem? I have exactly the same issue - AV3 sound but no video.

Cheers,

Andrew

Hiya,

Yes, I tried switching between the AV3 and AV3 S-Video, as well as pressing the fast-text buttons you suggested, but with no luck. Did you mean pressing them all at the same time?

Cheers,

Andrew

No.
What have you connected to the AV3 input?

I did have a Playstation 3 plugged in. However I tried a camera with video cable and that doesn't work either so I am sure it is the video socket that is faulty.

It should just be a case of pressing the TV/AV button then the yellow fastext button should select AV3.
The actual socket itself isn't prone to damage, it could be a software problem with the set and if it is probably not economical to fix.
