Certainly has yeah haha. I still have my old Toshiba 36ZD26P actually although am looking to get a new HDTV. No doubt that if you can get one of these screens for SD use you'll get good milage from it.

Hi luv, thats the one, had to travel a 280 mile round trip to pick it up.....worth every penny, they had replaced it with a plasma. Its a damn heavy beast of a tv though, strained my forarms moving it with my brother. Regarding dvd players am looking at either a pioneer 868, an arcam dv88+ or a top end denon but these are still expensive but bloody good. Might be over kill as i dont require hdmi or component video output as the sony only has rgb input, as u know. Shame it does not have component video input with progressive scan, would of been the icing on the cake

Just need to replace my panny PH9 plasma and get a pioneer 5090 and i will be in tv heaven lol

Hi luv, traveled from the wirral to driffield and back, 280 miles in all. My convergance is very good, BBC news ticker tape is nice and straight, so are sky menus. What do u think of the 100hz adv. digial motion on the sony? i have a lumagen hdp scaler that i use with my panasonic PH9, am thinking of connecting it to the sony if possible, component inputs would of made it much easier lol

How do u get into the service menu? How many hours has your sony done? I find the adav. 100hz digital motion to much on film based material, it actually makes it looks very much like video, not unlike studio based material, shame really as it really smooths out the picture. It is great for sports or video based material, i tend to use the 100hz digital plus for films. My scaler is primarily used to convert and smooth out the motion on panasonic ph9 due to its hdmi board being locked at 60hz, using the scaler i can get a 48hz refresh rate, much smoother, no judder.

Re: Ok people, once again had to bring this up !!

i have a very very usful guide dedicated to the kv32/ 36hq100b crt on the set up adjustments its got all sorts, anyway if you do have the big silver sony rm-940 remote commander this is what you do:

1. press and hold the left mode selection button until vcr and dvd leds flash, point the remote at the tv and press the vcr power button twice you will see TT show up in the top right, then press the tv menu button, you are now in the service menu, go to the bottom section which is monitor, go thru to error monitor and you can see the hours its done
