HDCP and ems iVu4 VideoWall Controller

Hi all. My first post and sadly it has to be in the support area

I purchased an iVu4 stand alone video wall controller from emsdigital.co.uk but that isn't the problem. Driving it with a HD DVD player is ...

My setup is like this ...

HD DVD Player > iVu4 > 4 displays

All i'm getting is a black screen when using the HD DVD player but it works with the PC, normal DVD player ect just fine. Just the HD DVD player doesnt want to give me anything

Is this because the source is HDCP compliant and the iVu4 is not ?

Any help would be highly appreciated !

Re: HDCP and ems iVu4 VideoWall Controller

Hello dreamor

Spooky - just been talking to someone about developing an HDCP compliant video wall controller!!!

The unit you link to has no mention of HDCP so is unlikely to support DVD, HD DVD, BD, SKY HD etc via HDMI.

You could install an HDMI to YUV converter ahead of the Vid Wall controller for your HDMI sources - or simply use the YUV outputs if the Source has them.

Re: HDCP and ems iVw4 VideoWall Controller

Further to your post i also purchased the iVw4 but the company to deal with is iView Data their support is very good. I have managed to play from DVD direct into the 4 screens as one large image although it does have the functionality of clone or vertical replication.

Although the iVw4 is not HDCP compliant there are ways around it.. if you look into their website at iiview.com there is an alternative product which is the all2HDMI if you play your dvd HDMI out and into the all2HDMI it will strip the HDCP thus allowing you to play dvd direct onto the iVw4.

note: input from DVD player (HDCP) into the All2HDMI then connect into the iVw4 and your done..

The all2HDMI is an excellent product which will allow numerous different inputs to be outputted though it is switched and can be used with a remote control. for multi screen and as a standalone videowall controller the iview data product will meet your requirements
