Loewe Mimo - stunning design or ugly dog? You decide!

Let's see if you people on the forum have got an eye for good design.

Everyone I've asked at work say that they don't like the design of the Loewe Mimo:

But I think it's a stunning design, one of the best looking TVs I've ever seen and it would look brilliant in a minimalist home. It has both a retro look and a fresh new design. Personally I would really consider buying one.

What does everyone on here think?

I love the pictures of them. But I saw the 32" model in the flesh today and didn't like it as much as I thought I would.

I also picked up a little pamphlet thingy from HoF and it has a picture of the 28" model in "Anthracite" i.e Black - imo it looks much better than the 32" in cream. Not sure if it's the colour, or the fact that the design works better for a smaller cabinet, probably both.

Picture -

It's certainly no dog - I like the way it stands out and coupled with that cuboid cabinet it's even better, but have to agree that it's not quite as good looking in the flesh as it is in the promo shots.

I nearly bought one today, but decided on the Aventos instead.

The Mimo looks like a sharp LCD in white and bigger!!!! I think it is really ugly (perfect for an IKEA room though)
Not to my taste!!!!!

It's awful looking. I got a black Aventos because all I wanted to focus on was the picture - not a garish surround.

bluetile - I wouldn't call it garish - it's kind of minimalist in my view. Can something be garish and minimalist at the same time? The only real design flourish that I can see is the red button thingyame

From the image, it's not to my taste however it may be more attractive in the flesh. Jury is out at the moment.

I think it is a great design in a minimalist way.......... They are selling well, but I feel if it was at the same price as the Aventos it would be a real flier. Also prefer the Rack 1 metal stand to the "Applemac" cube stand.

Cheers, Brock.
