Hi All

I've been trying to buy a 36" CRT (Toshiba , Panasonic, Sony) with 100 Hz and Y PB PR connections (Progressive Scan)

I've seen quite a lot on On-line Auctions matching my specs, but its all Pick Up Only, and since i live North of the Border, nothing has appeared near me for months.

So my question is Are there any firms/shops/stores that still sell 36" CRT second hand that deliver to Scotland as i'm itching to see SD Freeview Signal in 100 Hz and watch a few DVDs in Progressive Scan

Does such a thing exist? I thought the only progressive CRT's were a few of the last generation CRT RP's. Those direct view that had component but were only interlaced.

The later Picture frames from Toshiba all had progressive scan, but for PAL it's only 50Hz, so some flicker will occur. With NTSC signal it accepts 60Hz progressive, which is quite good.
I recently got me a 36ZP48 (the ZP46 is the same without the surround sound) and can say that, eventhought it has some of the usual CRT quirks (convergence/focus problems on the corners, gemetry is not perfect etc.), oeverall the image is amazing with very deep blacks that no lcd of today can get. The only match would probably be the Pioneers Kuru's but those cost an arm and a leg as they usually say...

I'll second that I owned a 36ZP48 and was one of the best CRT's I have seen. Impressive PQ!!

The only downside was the size and weight of the thing

Is there much of a difference, I mean if you had a Kuro and 36ZP48 side-by-side Displaying good quality freeview SD or DVD movie (720 x 576) would you notice the difference, as the Kuro will need to upscale the SD to 1024 x 768 , and if you have a poorer resoultion of 640 x 480 or a VHS signal the CRT can adjust to pin sharp accuracy, not the Kuro

Do the Kuros go down to 36"? If not, you cannot really have them side-by-side and expect the same viewing experience.
