32" Philips tv broken

Hello all,

I've owned a Philips 32" CRT TV for around 8 years without incident. However recently I noticed that the screen will get progressively greener while viewing and return to normal. I didnt think much of it until now when I turned on the TV, all I got was nothing but a green screen.

Does anyone know the problem and is it an easy fix?

I expect the knowledgable folks to recognise this, but it always helps to quote the exact model no, as it appears on the sticker at the back.

Sounds like it could be the tube, I've heard this can be a problem in many Philips CRTs. If it is the tube it be come more to repair than replace..

oh and check the cables i.e scart aren't loose..

Re: 32" Philips tv broken

Thanks for your help

It does have a problem with one of the Scarts from very early on but we chose not to use that port afterwards.

Currently sitting in the garage so will post up the model later when I get back from work. Someone had mentioned it could be the tube so I'm guessing you're right in saying I may need a replacement TV.

How reliable are the LCD TVs? Whats a good one to go for?
