Is this the new replacement 36'' TV from philips model # 36PW9308.
That replaces the troubled 9607 ?

No, this supercedes the 9527 range (the 36" version was available in other countries)

.... and in common with the other 2nd generation Pixel+ sets, now has a Movie+ mode which apparently gets rid of the motion "halos".
