Question viewable size of CRT TVs

Just wondering what viewable size of 16x9 widescreen CRT TVs are...

28" = about 26" viewable ?
32" = about 30" viewable ?
36" = about 34" viewable ?

That's pretty close - remembering to measure diagonally of course. It varies between makes, but all CRT viewing areas are reduced a little by the frame the CRT or "tube" is housed in.

Hmm.. yeah.
It makes sense that the viewable size should vary depending on different models, and brands.

When manufacturers quote tube sizes, the inch measurement is an overall size including the black surround (often hidden behind the facia)

whereas the CM size should be the actual visible size, hence the 21" size also quoted as 51cm viewable area isn't the same thing.
