If the geometry is out?

If the geometry is out on my TV will it make the picture look bad in terms of colure etc. The picture on the new tube in my TV looks like a banana. God knows how it ever got out of the repair shop.

It shouldn't no, it'll just have bends in odd places! If you're having problems with colour/dark patches etc. you may have purity errors which may require an engineer to degauss the tube to clear it.

look at a straight line moving across the picture(eg...Football pitch)...on my old tv,the geometry was out and any straight line would appear to have a bend or kink in it.

It's not getting any better. The TV was returned this Friday after having a new tube fitted because the last one had a very bad red tinge to it. The new tube seems to have its geometry way out, a letter box picture is noticeably bowed from left to right. And now the light in the room is down I can see the screen has a very green tinge to it now.

Why are you not raising this with them ? Advise that you are unhappy and you're not prepared to accept the repair and get it sorted.
