Is it my tv or dvd player?

Last night I was watching a DVD and noticed that on dark scenes the black colours were pulsing brighter then darker. Once i noticed this i tried another dvd to see whether or not is was the disc, it wasn't as the pulsing was still there, when i went back to my tv channels i couldn't spot it. my dvd player is a pioneer 737 which is connected to a Sony 36fs76 via QED scart to AV2 using an RGB signal has anyone else noticed this with there tv or dvd player? cheers

The symptoms sound like a macrovision artefact. In which case the solutions are:

a) get the DVD player macrovision disabled - this is a firmware modification

b) get the TV fixed - it is faulty, but I'd guess, depending on the severity, it falls within tolerance (a likely manufacturer's response).
