JVC TM-1500PS.3 monitor to DVD?

Hello

I have bought of ebay four JVC TM-1500PS.3 monitors. I intend to use them to screen video art at the art gallery where I work. I need to find the best way to link them up to a DVD player.

The monitors have Composite and YC Inputs (JVC 7-pin). The DVD players we have all have Scart out + Video Out + Component Video out (but no composite out).

Do i need to buy new DVD players that have Composite out (to match the monitors?). Is there a way of converting the YC input to work with either the scart or video out or component video out?

Images of the monitors featuring all the avaliable connections can be found here:

http://www.auctiva.com/hostedimages/...0,0,0&format=0

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Best

Paul

They do have composite out...that's what "Video Out" stands for.

Re: JVC TM-1500PS.3 monitor to DVD?

Yes all it requires is a BNC to Phono conveter (like this one) on the monitors' "Video In" socket. You can then use a phono cable (like this one) from the DVD players' "Video Out" socket to the "Video In" on the monitor. Slide the switch to 75Ohm if using a 75Ohm cable.
This monitor looks as though it has a "Video Out" so in theory you should be able to daisy-chain all four monitors off each other.

The pic of your monitor shows it to have a phono socket for audio in...if the DVD player has a similar audio out all you need is a phono to phono lead of a suitable length and Bob's your uncle.

Re: JVC TM-1500PS.3 monitor to DVD?

Ah, I see.

And then presumably if i need to headphone up the monitor (it doesn't have an in built headphone socket) then i need to get another connector, something like this:

http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?...o=1023&doy=9m4

to connect the audio out to a set of headphones?

I very much appreciate your help here!

Ah

p.s, the dvd players we have have dual left and right audio out. Would i need to get some sort of dual to mono phone lead/adaptor, or will the audio just have to be mono?

Best

Re: JVC TM-1500PS.3 monitor to DVD?

The audio out is at line level and is intended to be fed to the audio in of an amp...there isn't a strong enough signal to drive a set of headphones.
What you could get is a small headphones amp and feed the audio out from the monitor to that.
Maplins sell these AFAIK.

Re: JVC TM-1500PS.3 monitor to DVD?

....or you could use a pair of active mini speakers for the sound (like these). They also have a headphone socket on them. With these, a Phono to 3.5mm adaptor will need to be used (like this one) to connect the active speakers to the "Audio Out" on the back of the DVD player.

You can still run audio to your monitors by extracting the audio from the DVD players' SCART socket instead. A SCART to Phono adaptor (like this one) will enable a secondary output of both Audio and Video.
