JVC AV-32T5B How do I stop it flashing messages up every time I change channel

I have the picture format (JVC call it ZOOM) thing set to auto.
Almost every time I change channel the screen feels the need to flash up the format in the top left of the screen.
Now I watch a lot of satellite and the picture format changes on almost every channel. So I get this thing for about six or seven seconds almost every time saying 'auto' and then beneath it the format, panoramic, 16:9 etc. It's especially annoying when channel surfing because it covers up the channel ident.

It is driving me barmy. I don't want to know if it is now panoramic or widescreen.

I searched through the menu and instructions but can't see anyway to turn it off.

I'd be grateful for any info on how to get rid of it, thank you.

The option to turn of the "OSD" or on screen display, should be located within the "set up" menu.

No I just rechecked it in case I had missed it.
The options within the set up menu are

Auto Program
Edit/Manual
Language
Ext Setting
Picture Tilt

Check whether there's an info or "i" button on your remote that might turn the feature off.

There is and it doesn't.
It gives me a list of what channel is programmed into each channel slot.

There has to be a way to switch this off surely.
I love the tv but this is seriously impacting my relationship with it in a most negative way.

Right, I just rang JVC in desperation and they said it can't be turned off.
Downer!!

BUT, if anyone knows different please share.

I'm in agreement with JVC.
The only way around the problem as far as I can see is to use any other mode other than auto.

I tried that but it switches back to auto. Plus they said it wouldn't matter what mode it's on it will still do it.

What I really need is someone on here also has one of these sets to post if they have found a way round it. Or if I'm just deluding myself. I suspect I'll have to put up with it.
