toshiba 32zt29b sound loss

well as the title says,moved the tv to clean behind it and when i put it back the bloody sound had gone off and the red stand by light which turns green when tv is on is staying red .has anyone else had this problem.i've had this tv since new and its been a belter so am very reluctant to bin it.any help would be greatly appreciated .cheers,mick.

Your title is a wee bit misleading...if the set is stuck in standby with a red led...you won't have any sound or picture.
A faulty teletext module is a common cause of a stuck in standby fault.

sorry,very bad description of the fault.the picture is on but no sound,the standby light stays red instead of turning green which i presume is telling me theres a fault.cant find manual yet and been searching internet for 2 hours before posting on here so again thanks for any help,mick

If you moved the set check around the back of the set...some Toshiba models have a switch to select internal or external speakers...you've maybe brushed against it and set it to external.

youre absolutely spot on jaycee,i have now flicked the switch and the sound is back on.the light must have allways been red,just never noticed it.cheers very much,mick
