Tosh 32ZD26P and buzzing

Hi Guys, after reading a couple of messages on the site, I have had my buzzing 32ZD26P picked up for repair. When the guys cames they listened, and heard the buzzing, and told me that all TVs make a buzzing. Now my old Sony 24inch W/S dosnt, and I told them when I buy a £1300 TV, I dont expect ot to buzz. They agreed with this and took it away. I did tell them the noise was coming from the 'electron gun' (so not to sound like a total novice) and also told them that the noise changes to a higher pitch when there is very bright white on screen.
Now is this something that they will be able to repair? I know the noise is not heard at high volume, but as i mostly listen to it at night with the volume down, it is alsways there, and heard. What is the next step? I have just got a feeling that they will turn around and say it is a 'feature' of the set. Can I ask for a replacement?

Any thoughts, or has anyone else had there 32ZD26P's fixed to get rid of buzzing?

Thanks

Nick

quick question

hi...
Im thinking of buying this set (Toshiba 32ZD26) and
being a 32Zd26 owner can you tell me....

On anolouge material i.e. ariel and video does the TV suffer from very small digital artifacts sort of a digital shroud which appear on edges, lines and in particular bright colours (red especially)????

I have visited Currys and other retailers, and all the ZD26's have this problem.

I even took my video in and tried it. I didn't notice it much until a red car came in the picture and there it was these blocky dots apear on fine detail! annoying!

reducing the sharpness gets rid of it, but makes the picture really blurred.

Is this a problem only to anolouge material or does it effect digital stuff too (sky/dvd etc..)???

Whats the video material like with yours?

do you recommend the TV?

My other options are:

Panasonic: 32PL1
32PB50

And Toshiba 32Z23

what do u think?

thanx mate..

Hi
The small digital artefacts that you mention are on all 100 Hz sets ….it’s just a case of seeing them.

Don’t get me wrong there are loads of people on this forum that have a 100 Hz set & are happy with it, others prefer 50hz sets…it’s a matter of choice, & how picky you are.

50 Hz sets have their weaknesses, however as we have all had 50hz sets for years we consider this to be normal & compare 100 Hz technology to this.

Personally I would for the moment go for a 50 Hz set as 100 Hz technology is getting better all the time, just look at the first generation of the 100 Hz TV’s & compare them to present day models & you will see a vast difference.

Any way sorry for waffling on, if you aren’t sure what to do you could always take a look at the Tosh 32z27 that Makro have on sale from Wednesday for £499 + vat (£586) a lot of telly for the ca$h…maybe this can help you decide!!

Regards, Tb.
