TV EXTRAS _ cables and warranty

Having spent yesterday looking at the cableing options i realize its not a small task. s-video for dav,scart/rgb for sky, scart for vcr then connect each component to each other and more cables for audio to the dav from everything else. I am spending £1400 for the tv,£600 for dvd/home cinema Davs880, and £130 for the vcr. Any recommendations on how much i should budget for cables and on how much for the 2 main links, S-video and Scart rgb.I was considering £60 for the svideo [qed/chord] and £30-£40 scart [qed/ixos].

Warranty, until an earlier post that i read i was not even aware that additional cover could be purchased for the tv for a reasonable price.and the fact that any warranty i pick up now wont kick in until a year< is there anything wrong with buying cover after ten months

This is especially good now that i can save the warranty money and divert towards the cabelling. Can anyone who has bought cover online or elsewhere give me any urls and prices if possible.I am new to the term 'new for old' and when i queried it in the high street stores no one was familiar with it. What does it take for the product to be comepeletly replaced? if anyone has been caught out by small print can mention it here with their cover.

The largest provider of extended warranties in the UK is Domestic and General. Take a look here for details.

cheers, just took a look a while ago and found something i did not understand under exclusions maybe you can shed some light.

A) the cost of repairs to the equipment, including parts and labour charges following mechanical or electrical breakdown up to the limits shown below for each repair:
During 1st year of protection 50% of the current retail price*
During 2nd year of protection 40% of the current retail price*
During 3rd year of protection 30% of the current retail price

does that mean they will not pay in full for the repair.is it the same with any other warranty

Also if anyone can tell me the best way to connect the pc to the tv. I currently have an ati r9000 which has a svideo tv out, should i go svideo to scart or svideo to svideo. I prefer the svideo to scart as i will have a spare scart and no cable switching would be required. But then again i am purchasing a svideo-svideo cable £60 from my dvd to tv which i could use if the picture quality could be justified.

Edit-
Just realised the fq80 has 1 svideo in on the front , that means an unsightly cable from my dav to the tv unless i go svideo to scart, but does that mean a loss in signal quality compared to an svideo only connection. Hell, i was having second thoughts on the dav because of the lack of rgb connection and now i might go seperates instead.
