On my 9617 you can configure the input volume from each EXT source using the menus. I had DVD to EXT1, Satellite to EXT2 and video to EXT3 - the volume was fine when using the last two but very quiet for DVD. I checked the menu settings, all the EXT inputs were set with the volume in the middle of the available range - I set the EXT1 volume to max and now when I switch to DVD the sound level is the same as the other inputs (also my ears don't bleed when I switch back from DVD !!)
