Panny PL10 or Sony KV32LS60 ?

Ive narrowed my choice down to one of these.
I have a seperate HC set up so no need for decent sound.
Please help me choose :D

Not quite the reply you're looking for...

I've got a Panny TX32PL1, ie the 50Hz version not the PL10 100Hz.

I'm very happy with this set. Through RGB it has great definition and natural colours - if set up right c/o Avia. My X-box goes through S-video and isn't far behind, although the dot crawl annoys a bit. The sound is cr*p but like you I put everthing through my amps.

Sorry I can't help with the exact model but the 50Hz set's a goodun!

Hmmm..thanks m8..I did consider the PL1 but I thought i'd spend a little more and get a 100Hz set.
Ive scoured these forums and found praises and problems for both so Im in a bit of a quandry :D
Any body else? C'mon this threads had loads of views and only one reply!!

P.S. I know I'm a noob but what is AVIA?

Me again,

Avia is a test DVD, do a search on the forum. It's an invaluable tool to maximize your AV gear. It's got sections on how to optimize your display settings and test tones to help you properly integrate your sub and tweak almost every conceivable aspect of your set-up.

Only snag is you'll have to import it and technically it's set up to maximize NTSC (US system) pictures - although my PAL (UK system) viewing has benefitted greatly from it.

Ive found it at www.movietyme.com for £39.99 with free shipping...a little on the expensive side for me..Think I'll stick to the THX jobby :D

Sorry mate...

It may be expensive but it's worth every penny.

The THX optimizer built into THX discs has 2 main problems:

1. A lack of adjustment options - it also relies on the 'pluge' test to correctly set brightness, something that not all DVD players can reproduce.

2. More importantly, the levels are specific for that disc ONLY - ie if you set up using say Attack of the Clones, the levels won't be right for Monsters Inc. or T2 for instance.

I got mine from Amazon.com, I'm afraid it was about the same price after I got stung for customs charges

Have a search on the forum, I've seen some other links posted. I've just looked at www.dvdpricecheck.co.uk , a price comparison site, the cheapest on there is £24.37 + £3.05 shipping.
