KV36FS76 Summary

Could I just try and summarise the problems that can be expected on this set should I eventually buy one...

1. Some have buzzing problem but this can be solved by replacing a part as described by mh66639.

2. Some/all?? have blocks/lines/waves on dark scenes as described by Rox.

3. All have wavey edge problem when showing rectangles containing text as described by AndyChap.

Feel free to post if I have missed anything...

What I really want to know is...would you still buy this TV??

If so why? and if not what would you buy?

Cheers

Bam,

Responses to your numbers are:

1. true.

2. I have noticed processing 'artifacts' occasionally but over the last few days have not been able to see again. ie. cannot fault it.

3. All TVs seem to suffer from this. Apparently caused by the control of voltage (or something) so Sony created VPS. Mine is *very* good at controlling this, hardly visible at all.

My TV is PERFECT. Not one pixel out of focus, or bad geometry, bad colour etc.
As soon as I get a loan of a digital camera I'll post some pics.

The only thing that may need solving is 2. but if I cannot reproduce it obviously i) its not a big problem ii) Sony cannot fix it.

Would I recommend this TV, YES. I wish I could invite you all around to demo it to prove it! Pics will have to do.

Hope this helps.

Matt.

Matt.
Sorry for my English, almost incomprehensible.

There is the problem I have signalled in my posts
and they very clearly see in the dark scenes :-).
The problem is clearer in a few television sets.

SONY said that is able to arrange the problem
but I have the FS76 for a week and they must already open it
and put hand to the weldings!

Sorry but, I would not recommend it to anyone!!

I am pleased to advise that the set I have is excellent. I do not think you can say it is easy to buy another tv without problems because from reading this site alone, it seems you just have to be a little lucky to get one you are happy with. Rather than decide which set to buy, it may be more appropriate to say, "shall I take a chance on buying a TV at all". Because we all want one, you probably will.
