John lewis guarentee

I have just bought a used 28" jvc with 1 year remaining on a john lewis warranty.
The set is great and for £80 a bargain. However it does suffer from the dreaded jvc tilt problem (about 1/2 inch down left to right).

Will I be able to get this repaired under the warranty remaining or will I be offered vouchers as the set is now obsolete.

Actually will I be able to use the warranty at all as I didnt actually buy the TV.(not sure of the rules on warranties)

*There is no tilt feature with this model as its 28"
