Crackling noise in Thomson 32wb842s

I have recently purchased a new Thomson 32wb842s television. The picture is excellent and so is the sound. The only problem seems to be that on some channels, there is a crackling noise from the speakers. The noise sometimes reduces or disappears altogether when I change the sound settings, ie., from Stereo to Mono, or from Magic to Normal, etc. The problem seems to be occur only in the local privately run channels here in Karachi, Pakistan. Manually re-tuning the channels in questions does not seem to have any effect. I am wondering if this is something wrong with the TV, something wrong I've done in the sound settings or just a result of the bad quality of feed from these channels. The same channels do not exhibit the same problem on another and much cheaper TV that I have at home. Any pointers to a solution would be most welcome. As is probably obvious from the above, I am far from being an expert in these matters.
Thank you in advance

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I suspect your new TV is okay and that the problem lies in these channels.
Your new TV because of its higher quality sound circuits/reproduction is just showing up a problem that's probably been there all along.

Re: Crackling noise in Thomson 32wb842s

Thanks. That makes me feel a lot better. This TV really is very good. I've got a Sony DVD player connected through component video leads to the TV and audio going through a NAD AV716 surround receiver, and this has moved my home movie experience to a totally different plane. The TV's sound system is used mainly for television broadcasts coming through a cable, and this too is very good. The built-in subwoofer makes a big difference.
