WHY No CRT on any Laptops ??????

WHY No CRT on any Laptops ??????
Im in the market for a new laptop , however to my total dismay and utter astonishment, NO ONE sells a laptop with CRT screen....

Have I spotted a gap in the market here ?

Surely there are enough of us CRT fans to make selling such a system viable ?

Would anyone here buy one for instance ?

I would....

But when you closed the lid, it would have a big bulge on the top. Also imagine the dimensions of the bag to carry it around.

Also I think you would have to drop the name laptop.

you can buy a laptop with the appropriate output, and a nice CRT monitor to plug it into to use at home. Carrying a large CRT with you would be a bit impractical, though

Well, the more I think about it, IM CONVINCED there is a gap in the market

and yes, I mean BUILT IN CRT display !

Maybe Samsung could design a ultra ultra ultra slim fit crt display for laptop use ?

dont laugh, people used to think the earth was flat, and where are they now ?!

It might one day be possible with newer tech like SED or OLED but I really doubt you will see any PC maker invest in CRT tech for lap top screens...

well, it would be a great idea to propose to those socialists at DRAGONS DEN !!!

I remember some guy came on the show last year, with an idea about some LASER spirit level, and he was laughed off, they said it was a pointless idea....

however, these laser guides are already sold by black and decker ( etc ) for many years

defo the show is staged most of the time, and the ideas are as original and as fresh as my underpants.........

If they could make the crt that slim don't you think teh would'ce already done it with tv's? you're bonkers mate.

Uncle Clive Sinclair was developing a CRT-based Sinclair portable at the time SirAlan(TM) Sugar bought Sinclair. This was based on the Sinclair "flat screen" Microvision portable TV - and involved folding mirrors and all sorts of optics.

When grilled why he canned it, Sir Alan simply asked "Did you see it?"...

Perhaps they could invent the inflatable CRT..... so when you turn it on & open the display top it auto inflates. When finished & turn off it deflates. Rather like a car convertible roof top! This then keeps it in the handy carry around laptop category.
