The truth behind slimfit HD CRTS............

Ive been in contact with people in the know, and have just learnt some interesting facts about Samsung and their plans for CRT.

apparently, Samsung are convinced that with their Ultra Slimfit TVs, they will outsell every other current technology, period.

this may not be the case in the uk or us, and other 'richer' economies, but on a global scale, the slimfit tvs are more affordable then the flat panels, and have the same stlye hues, and desirability.

samsung also will make more profits per crt than flat panels, due to far less rejection rates.

so, from what i hear, this is all GREAT news for us CRT fans, and anyone else who wants clean, fatigue free images, that only crt can offer.

and all at lower costs too.

bring it on..........!

Only problem is that the Slimfit TV's have been far from 'clean' with regards to geometry and colour purity issues. I'm a fan of CRT technology, but if they (Samsung) are going to make a pigs ear of it then I'd rather get a Plasma, or even an LCD

I looked at these briefly before buying a flat panel and they seemed pointless. I wasn't even convinced that they offered a proper HD resolution either, well at least the UK ones anyway.

Re: The truth behind slimfit HD CRTS............

I have to ask if there are any plans for an HD CRT with HDMI input?

Most new products out there use HDMI as a conection and Component is getting less and less popular.

Only LCDs, plasmas and Pjs seem to have HDMI. I guess newer tech like SED and OLED will also have HDMI.

Are there currently any CRT screens that offer at least one HDMI input?

Hmmm, I never discussed that, but I would be extremely suprised if a HDMI input wasnt implemented on their next gen CRTs.....

The previous SlimFit models released here in the UK, the Z4 and Z41 series had one HDMI input.

http://www.samsung.com/uk/products/t...Specifications

The Z4 series had a problem with the HDMI input which caused the left and right audio channels to be reversed. This was fixed in the Z41 series model.

Its almost certain the Ultra SlimFit will have atleast one HDMI input. I'm hoping for two.
