Monitor and Rear View Camera in Motorhome

I have a rear view camera with built in microphone connected to an in-cab black and white monitor fitted to my motorhome.
As soon as the volume switch on the monitor is turned up, I should be able to hear sounds from the rear through the microphone. However, instead, all I can hear is a loud buzzing sound.
The monitor has been changed but the buzzing is the same as before.
Can anyone please offer any suggestion for the reason for this buzzing?
Is it possible for a faulty microphone to be the cause?

John

You should have continued this discussion in the thread you started here
The microphone or wiring between it and the monitor could cause the buzzing.
