Toshiba DSF Problem - Engineer reqd. in S. M/cr

I Have a Toshiba 36ZP38B (two of them in fact) and its is displaying the commonly reported symptons which have been diagnosed in this forum many times as a faulty DSF module. I have spoken to the lady at Toshiba and can get hold of a replacement by supplying my serial no. etc, etc.

The one thing I can't get hold of is an engineer who can fax Toshiba a diagnosis, accept delivery of the part and come to my home to fit it.

Please, can anyone help me?

Could the lady at Toshiba Cust services not recommend a service centre or TV technician in your area?

Hi Jaycee

Thanks for the swift reply.

Toshiba recommended somebody in Bolton - quite a large sounding operation. They charge £30 to collect and want to soak test it for 3 days. I would prefer to deal with somebody closer and more "friendly".

The sets are easily fixed on-site and as long as the modules are brand new replacements soak-testing is unnecessary.
Try phoning around local TV repair shops advertising in your local newspapers or business directory, and try Yell.com or Yellow Pages.
Just explain the problem and tell them you want them fixed in your home...any decent TV engineer will be aware of this fault and cure and be able to give you an estimate for their labour.
Good luck and report back if you cannot find anyone suitable.

Success!

I thought I'd exhausted the local engineers from Yell.com.

Went a little further afield and found one who carries a DSF module as a stock item because he's done quite a few of these. Booked in for Saturday morning - £90 - sorted.

DTS Repairs in the Home - 0161 335 6223 - Simon.
