Was under the impression this set has just the 2 scart sockets..

it says rear sockets AV1 21 pin RGB in
AV2 21 pin AV in/out and S-Video in
AV4 21 pin AV in/out and S-Video in/RGB in
front sockets AV3 4 Pin S-Video IN and RCA AV IN

Have Panasonic made a balls up or have the online sellers I've looked at got it wrong?

Anyone with this set please confirm?

The reviews all suggest it has 2, only one of which is RGB plus the S-vid socket on the front.

I've just had a quick look in the manual I downloaded and that only shows 2 as well.

I'm hoping to pick one of these up in the January sales, so if anyone spots a good deal let me know! £458 is the cheapest I've seen it, but thats not in the sale.

You'd have thought the Panasonic website would have got the specs right, if they can't be trusted with info, who can?

The price you found seems to be the best available, Dixons, Currys, Comet etc.
I've read John Lewis price match internet and give a 5 year guarantee thrown in, but their website only has 1 widescreen 28" or larger....very poor, maybe the shops have a better range.

Was looking at the Panasonic also the JVC AV-28T25S which definately has 3 scarts also best buy winner What Hi Fi sound and vision.

Hmmmm.....decisions, decisions!

How much is the JVC, I remember reading the review in WHF and think it was rrp'd at about £600.

The panasonic website is pretty bad for details, some of their model numbers are/were wrong too. I'd just d/l the manual if I were you.

I popped into the local Curry's today and the pl1 instore price is still £498, but you get a 50% discount on sky as part of their sales, I'm hoping these weren't Jan sales prices!!

Only seen a couple of prices below £600 on the JVC, £586 delivered...Comet & Empire Direct....both pretty poor rated companies by customers although I bought a home cinema kit from E.D and they delivered in 3 days which I think's not bad.

Still leaning towards the Panasonic even with just the 2 scarts, the JVC seems to have a fault with dark pics with RGB feed which is the prob I got now with my TV and it's unusable with RGB.

Another option is buy the TV from a local dealer and if you use Barclaycard use the Price Promise where they refund you the difference if you find it cheaper, even with some e-tailers within 60 days

it has 2 scarts. one RGB and one S-video. but you will get cross talk/ghosting from the aerial socket bleeding through to the scart connections its kind of a panasonic trademark you won't notice it usually, but one day you WILL see it and then you have to just put up with it, as panasonic don't even acknowledge the fault as it can't be seen during tv broadcasts

I'm very tempted to get one from Dixons today, they have 10% off so the Panny is £412.22 with free delivery.

I have the Ghosting problem with my current tv, but I think its much worse than it will be on the Panasonic, I've managed to pretty much solve it though. Tune the VCR (RF) into one of your channels and then switch to that channel before switching to AV, you shouldn't notice anything because the VCR is providing a blank screen.

Definately got two SCARTS. Got one myself - fantastic picture, bad geometry - perhaps I was unlucky, two sets and getting my money back - see my other post.

Result of my tale (as seems to be with all 'horror' stories on these forums) is to go to an independant retailer where the staff don't wear white socks!

Fantastic picture, O.K. sound, if you get one with good geometry, a bargain.
