Curved Scrren or Flat

Common there must be someone with an opinion.

My £ 500 budget will either buy me a 28" flat screen or a 32" curved screen. i'm tempted to go for the big picture but what would you do?

What are the pro's and con's of flat?

With flat you get far less reflections etc. AND cinema screens are flat

If your viewing room is always dark and the screen is not too curved (I have seen some almost spherical screens in my time

) so that the picture is not too distorted on the surface (personal opinion as to what "too" means), then curved could be OK. I would rather go for the smaller flat screen, as our living room always has some light in it.

A curved screen can pick up all sorts from round the room, it can be annoying if you have lighting on the seating side of the TV as It will pick it up the only thing is the focusing distance is further i.e. if your lights are 3 feet behind you and the set is 7 feet away from you, the focusing distance for the lights will be 17 feet??? And you can block them out (visually i.e. concentrate in the fore ground rather than the back ground.), unless you get a very dark picture.
Flat screen can have geometrical problems as the gun likes to shoot on a curved surface.
Personally I rather have a good small picture than a larger slightly imperfect one.

Although I implied it I never said it. I would go for the Flat Screen, the only way I would go for the curved screen is if I was permanently watching it in a darkened room.
By the way I got as 28 flat screen Sony from John Lewis for £520/530 with a free 5year guarantee and delivery, just by ordering it over the phone.

The model is KV28LS35.There is a thread on the tv Sony KV28LS35S Is It Any Good? I have just looked at my bill and it was £539 not £520/530 but as I said I got a 5 year guarantee is it worth £11 to you, see below.

It is on sale at Comet online for £528 inc delivery (no 5 year guarantee though???????)
