Hi,

I got mine 2 weeks ago and the TV rocks.....

Not had any problems with it and the quality of the Picture whilst playing the ps2 or watching a DVD is outstanding.

Worth paying the extra few quid and going for the 66 instead of the 65.

what sort of price are you looking at????

Trying to get John Lewis (Kingston) to price match to Krish Audio Visual price of £799.

http://www.krishav.co.uk/SONY_TV.html

(Nice 5yr Guarantee :D )

Krishs price doesn't include the stand but i hope JL don't notice

Could anyone please take some photos of the TV in place as none of the pictures on the Net are particularly good.

Thanks again.

Is there any buzzing coming from the rear of your set? (sorry to keep going on about this folks...)

I've had my set for a week, and the first thing I checked for was the buzz, and not a sound from the back.

I was gonig to try and go in late this week

(might have to pull a sickie!)

I've got the added advantage though that Krish are only three miles from my house so according to JLs price promise it shouldn't be too difficult.

Had a chat with one of their guys and he said they would phone them but might accept a brochure as proof of pricing so might try and do a print out of the Krish webby and see if that will do.

Hi,

I get a slight buzzing when its cold and i can only hear it when i have my ear to the back of the set, so its all good!!!

I have the closed style cabinet, that price is very good mine cost be just shy of a grand with delivery, stand etc etc.

Well worth the money, when you going to order yours???

Yes, unfortunately the item has to be in stock.

Has anyone checked Krish's stock levels?

(also just spent my damn lunch hour wandering around trying to find a copy of this months "What Video and TV" - but failed, anyone provide a brief summary?)

The fact that Krish are selling this tv without a stand could indicate that it is a 'grey import'. Sony UK always include the stand to retailers here.

There appears to be a choice of stand for this set, an open stand with 2 shelfs and a glass doored one with 1 shelf. Can anyone provide a link to a site with pictures of the open stand?

G.M.

I too am looking at getting the Sony kv28fx66 TV. Had a JVC before and it was S%*T.

I would like to know from anyone who has the open type stand the product code is. I want to make sure it is the same stand as supplied with the DX40 but have just been warned by Comet that the DX40 stand may not fit.

Any clarification would be great. Thanks

on www.sony.co.uk the model shown has the glass door + one shelf and is referred to as KV28FX66TNS.U also KV32FX66TNS.U - the letters at the end I think denote the type of stand.
My local shop still has a KV32FX65 in stock [the previous model] and this has the same stand. I have also seen it listed as KV32FX66X30S with the open stand + two shelves.
Although to add to the confusion, I think some web sites are using the wrong picture [in fact one states "stand not as image shown"]. Best to check first by phone or email which stand your getting before you part with your cash!

A few questions for 32fx66 owners. Can the set be bolted to the stand or is it unsecured? Also, according to the spec. it lacks a digital comb filter. What, if any effect would this have on picture quality i.e. fine detail etc.? Finally, what's the geometry like, on older wega sets I noticed there was very noticeable inward bowing?
regards,
G.M.

Morning All,

When ordering this TV you can choose either the open style or closed style cabinets.

I went for closed style for my own reasons and it looks excellent!!

The unit sits on two pobs which are screwed to the cabinet and once in place that TV is not going anywhere!!

I ordered mine from www.webelectricals.co.uk

They have piccys of both types of cabinets. They provided a great service and the TV was delivered next day.

G.M. - i have not noticed any inward bowling i know there were a few problems on the previous model the FX65 but they seem to of fixed them in the FX66

It really is a top set!!

Cheers

Dal

I will post some findings though as soon as I get it lugged upstairs

W3DAL, could you please clarify what "pobs" are please?
The reason I need to know if the set is directly coupled to the cabinet ,is because the floor where it will be situated is slightly uneven. Had a look underneath tv on display, that was sitting on closed cabinet, could see 4 small bolt heads but set wasn't sitting flush.
Had a good look at the geometry on this set today, looks like sony have resolved geometry problems. Picture very impressive.
regards,
G.M.

Hey G.M

There are two discs either side about half an inch think that the TV sits on right at the front of the cabinet, which keeps it very sung, with the weight of the TV i dont think you have to worry about it going anywhere on your uneven floor.

The cabinet and TV sit very well together and even when its all set up you would find it very difficult for the TV to slide off the cabinet.

Pleased you thought the picture was impressive, mines only been on a total of 10 hours in the last couple of weeks and it seems to just get better as the set beds in....

So whos seriously thinking about ordering ones of these TV's???
