The causes of magnetic staining on the screen

Hello, I'm getting magnetic staining on my tv and I'm trying to figure out where it's coming from. I've got my JVC tv on a wooden tv bench, Dynaudio home cinema speakers 3ft away on target stands, centre speaker on top of the tv and a 5 tier metal Target hifi stand with a metal cased Limit dvd player, Sony AV amp, Yamaha amp, Pace freeview box, Homechoice STB and Xbox 360. I moved the speakers away but the problem remains.

Any help would greatly appreciated.

1) speaker on top of tv unless incredibly well shielded..
2) even after you move the speaker you will have to de-gauss..

Have you degaussed the TV ?
Unplug the TV completely from the mains, leave it for an hour to totally cool down; then plug back into the mains and switch the TV on.
You should her a "thunk" as the degauuser kicks in.
(Bit of a pain this- my CRT monitor has a degauss switch that you can operate anytime just by pressing it).

Possible dry joint in PTC circuit or the positor needs replacing.
The TV should Auto Degauss when you switch ON don’t leave it in S/BY.

Could also be the Earth’s Magnetic Field messing about with your TV.

Right, this has happened to me very often, it's sometime's that the tv is directly above the power cables beneath the floor, and if the TV is particularly low, or touchy to magnetic forces, this will cause the screen to get colour stains on the screen.

So to cure the problem, you can move the tv higher or to a different location in the room. Also if you have power cables in the wall sometimes they can cause it if they are poorly shielded.I've seen it so many times, and it happens in my living room.

Well, it does happen, I have a main power terminal in my living room, and the power cables running to it in the wall, cause hellish interference with the tv's I have tried to place anywhere in the vicinity.

An area I worked in with a very large metal structural beam caused all sorts of purity issues with standard CRT monitors. The minute we could move to LCDs in this area we did!

Some other possibilities: I've seen magnetic interference caused by electricity meters on the other side of the wall behind the TV. I remember looking at a whole batch of sets with the problem in a warehouse in France, and it turned out to be the metal security door that was somehow magnetized, so check any metal item nearby.

Also, make sure that you don't move or rotate the set after it has been turned on.

After a lot of experimenting, I've come to the conclusion that my JVC 32HV-P37 is very sensitive. I switched off the tv at the mains and removed the centre speaker and right front speaker. I've had a Toshiba 32WD98B and a Sony 32FX20U with the same setup and I've never had a problem. I 'm going to have to put up a shelf for the centre, and move my two front speakers.

Onething thats still puzzling me is when did this problem occur?

As soon as you put that centre speaker and the two front speakers next to the TV?
OR after HOURS,DAYS,or MONTHS ?

The problem has been over the course of days. I think that mains outlets and extension leads may have something to do with it. I decided to move away all the speakers but the problem seems to return slowly over time. The bench that the tv is pretty low down so that may be affecting it.

I had a similar problem a few years ago...turned out to be the radiator about 0.75 metres from the set...

I'd really doubt it's the mains stuff as it's all AC. You need DC for magnetisation. Degauss wands use ac!
