Hey guys im new to the forum and im wondering if i can ask for your advice.

I own an lg flatron my neighbour gave it to me as its been sat in his loft for 2 years.

when i switch the tv on it powers up as normal but the pciture looks discoloured then after a few seconds it just powers down in to standby mode and it stays there.

Any advice as i am really stummped.

Hey Jaycee sorry heres the model number WE-32Q10IP any help would be great as ive read reviews and apprently this tv rocks.

Those symptoms can be caused by a faulty "lopt" (high voltage transformer) eeprom IC or a capacitor...that's as far as I can go without actually physically examining the set...so you need to call in an experienced TV repair technician to get a quote.

Hey Jaycee.

My father inlaw s just decided to tell me that he fixes tv's for a hobby why he decided to tell me now i dont know but he also said it could be the lopt.

Unfortuantly the tv's he is used to working on are alot older than this one would you happen to have any schematics or a service manual or any instructions on how to replace the lopt.

Sorry, but to be on the safe side (and save you money in the long run) my advice is to call on the services of a professional...repairs to modern equipment are beyond the scope of hobbyists.

Yes, I have to stress Jaycee's point here, this is a fairly modern set, and far out of a hobbyist's reach, and they could end up doing more damage than good.

It won't cost too much to repair if the repair company can get the part in at a reasonable price.

I alway's liked this set, it alway's impressed me with it's nice sound, and the swivel at the bottom was a really nice addition, and something I had never seen on a crt up until then.

I would call somebody out and get it looked at, as it's pretty decnt set, and maybe you get lucky, and it's just a dry solder somewhere.
