Sony KV-28WS2U Manual?

Hi,

I picked up a Sony KV-28WS2U. PQ looks alright, if a bit washed out. I have been unable to find the manual anywhere on line. I have a general interest in going through it (because I am like that, you know ) and I am also wondering about its sound spec, how to use the speaker outs at the back and what inputs the two scarts take.

Any similar models whose manual I could search for?

TIA!

Re: Sony KV-28WS2U Manual?

The WS2 has two SCARTS I believe - SCART AV1 is RGB/Composite capable, SCART AV2 is Composite/S-Video capable. (This is the case for most twin SCART Sony TVs)

If your source correctly asserts Pin 16 RGB/Composite switching (aka Fast Blanking) and pin 8 (Status) - as most DVD players and set top boxes do - you don't have to manually select the AV1 RGB input. However some games consoles don't do this - and you may have to switch from AV1 to AV1--- to get RGB rather than composite.

I've seen quite a few WS2s go a bit washed out with age - but not had a chance to see if this can be rectified.

I used to have a smaller 20inch Sony (KV-20WS1U), that used to do that. Although it would display an RGB picture on SCART, pressing the input select button would bring it into the proper RGB mode (shown by three dots above the AV symbol), and the picture would shift to the right a bit. Also the colour adjustment would disappear in the menu as it should do.

@aekostas - With the risk of sounding cheeky, any chance you have a flatbed scanner to create an electronic copy?
