I ended up receiving two and managed to keep one for free. It isn't under guarantee anymore - I didn't really use it until recently, it was only ever meant as a TV to use if my main TV became unusable.
I did try getting another CRT, the Sony one mentioned in my first post. I'm going to wait until a month or two after the PS3 comes out before getting an LCD, I'm no rush to get annoyed by more TV related problems.

Model number: CE32DFN3-B
There isn't any problem with the vertical geometry on my current CE32. The other CE32 I had did have the screen stretched too far, it cut off the top and bottom of the screen. It seems like these sets all have geometry problems.
Anyway, I'd really appreciate it if someone knows how to access the service menu on these Sanyo sets. I won't blame you if I screw up - I'm now well aware of how dangerous it can be if you don't write down all the settings beforehand.
