You've highlighted the main differences yourself. In terms of sound, the LS60 has BBE sound as well as Virtual Dolby, whereas the LS35 only has Virtual Dolby, so you can have a choice!

The LS60 is louder and has a more powerful subwoofer than the LS35 (more watts). The LS60 has a slightly updated design as well (both to the set and the cabinet). Don't worry about the LS60 being 100Hz either - it's "plain 100Hz" (no extra digital processing). You'd be hard pushed to tell it was a 100Hz set when watching it (apart from fast, horizontal scrolling text being a little blurry - a minor price to pay if you ask me).

I too noticed that the dialogue on a couple of DVDs (especially Lord Of The Rings) was unclear - I thought I was going deaf. Ended up watching the films in NICAM. |
Yes, I had that problem with a few DVDs on the JVC as well. Obviously, the JVC had a hell of a subwoofer and the Sony can't compete with that, but there is still decent bass given out by the Sony's subwoofer (you'll get the most bass when watching with BBE Sound rather than Virtual Dolby). If you want more, your best bet is to go for an AV receiver and speakers anyway. I find it's just right for me though
Small point - You can't watch DVDs in NICAM. NICAM is the standard for analogue broadcast television only. You watched them in Stereo
