Philips 14pv202 picture problem

I have a Philips 14PV202/07 combi for bedroom use. It's around 7 yrs old but has only been used infrequently,
Switching on today the picture is coming up in red, blending to blue and green. It's the same for video or tv.
The picture is still watchable albeit with this shading.
Any ideas anyone? I think probably the tube is on it's way out, which is disappointing given it's little use
Any help much appreciated

Re: Philips 14pv202 picture problem

It sounds like an impurity fault caused by improper/faulty degaussing...as long as the set hasn't been dropped and damaged the shadowmask within the crt it's probably just a dry-jointed or faulty degaussing thermistor known in the TV trade as a "PTC"...shouldn't be too expensive to repair and worth calling in an engineer to have a look.
