Question Samsung WS32Z429TQX smearing

I've been reading with interest all the threads on the Samsung WS32Z's.

A month ago I bought the WS32Z429TQX and I am totally happy with it ........ except for the smearing faces issue.

Eventually I cracked getting into the Service Menu and I followed the advice posted elsewhere.

Samsung WS32Z429TQX, problems?

I got myself to the Video Adjust 4 menu but, for the life of me, there does not appear to be a setting for VCM Gain .

There is a menu settings for SVM Gain which was at 45, so I reset this to 0. However, this does not seem to have cured the smearing issue.

I am mainly watching SD TV through a Humax 9200T freeview box (don't have Sky, XBox etc.)

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Mike

Re: Samsung WS32Z429TQX smearing

Hi Mike,

If the Humax 9200T freeview box has a RGB output, which I would assume that it has, then use that and you may well find the the smearing is somewhat reduced. But please note that to use RGB you must ensure that the Humax is connected to the correct input on the Samsung, Ext 1. Also make sure that the cable that you use is fully wired for RGB, some aren't.
