Samsung WS-32A116D Problem

I've got a Samsung WS-32A116D 32" 100mhz tv and has a slight problem where there is a line about 1cm thick going accross on white or highly saturated pictures and it's slighty brighter than the rest of the picture. it's on all inputs aerial and scarts and can be either 1/4 from the top or bottom.

any ideas of possible causes and fixes

Cheers
Lee.

Sounds like image retention due to leaving the image in letter box format where there are black bars top and bottom of the picture. If left for some time then will show this issue when filling the screen. To be sure I would advise a service call, if image retention confirmed then the TV is not covered by any warranty and would require a new tube to rectify.
