29" Sony Picture Distortion. Ideas?

I have a 29" 4:3 Sony Super Trinitron bought about 7-8 years ago. It was a pretty expensive purchase at the time (£1200) so it is a good model (KV-S2922U).

The picture has pin-cushioning across the horizontal, where you normally get it down the vertical edges. The picture is compressed in the middle which pulls the picture down from the top and up from the bottom, towards the middle of the screen.

It is really obvious watching sky sports soccer saturday when the results are scrolling across about a 3rd of the way up the screen. They really bow up in the middle.

I know how to get into the "TT - setup menu" but can't see any obvious settings for correcting vertical pin cushioning.

Any ideas?

Cliff

You are very unlikely to find a set which allows you to correct horizontal pincushioning. So it looks like you may be stuck with it... unless any Sony experts have a cunning plan.
