slow tv!

hi there, just wondering if anyone has heard of this problem....
i have a philips 28pw6515 tv thats only half a year old.
it has started to have this annoying problem that the controls dont respond for a certain amount of time.what i mean is that you press to change channel for example, and 5 minutes later it will change.
it does it with both the remote and the top controls on the tv (so its not low batts in the remote), is my tv screwed? thanks for anyhelp.

Hi

Do you have a Tivo by any chance? If so, this is a known problem.

If you call Tivo Customer Service, they will upload a patched software version (2.5.5a) to your Tivo which fixes it.

The problem is rogue teletext data from the Tivo is flooding the I2C bus in the TV which causes it to respond very slowly. Eventually, the TV can crash and will shut down.

The software patch disables the teletext subtitles on the Tivo.

If you haven't got a Tivo, try unplugging your other devices one at a time.

There could be a problem with the AVLink signals coming from a dodgy piece of equipment.
