can i get my tv repaired or replaced?

about two and a half years ago i purchased a Philips 28inch widescreen CRT TV from comet online.

all has been well with the TV but around 3 months ago the geometry has gone around 5inches in from each side on both the left and right side.

to be honest its not all that noticeable when watching tv or films unless theres something like a vertical wall or pillar on the towards the edges of the screen.

however if i bring up the sky tv guide or play a game with menu's the geometry problem can be easily seen.

would i be able to get this fixed for free or replaced by comet even two and a half years after purchasing the set? I understand all items are covered for the 1st year, but what about after that, are there any other consumer rights available to me after this time period if a fault occurs?

many thanks

Re: can i get my tv repaired or replaced?

Those are symptoms of a failed component in the east/west circuit and shouldn't be too difficult/expensive to fix...it's possible if you complain loud and hard enough you may be able to get a free repair from Comet...you can but try.
