Blurry

Hey guys!

As some of you may already know, I sent my TV to be repaired for the sides of the screen being quite red and it came back the sides of the screen blurred. Sods law, sods ****ing law...

It's really starting to annoy me now... Would any of you have any idea what could cause the sides of my TV screen to be blurred? I'd like to know if it's easy or hard to fix.

I switch my TV to the viewing mode which cuts off the sides of the screen when using it now, it looks better that way. Still, my TV is already rather small at 26", so the picture is basically the size of my old portable when doing that, not really the best solution. :/

Re: Blurry

Hi, I'm afraid I'm not familiar with your model. If the picture is focussed in the centre but goes out of focus around the outside as you move away from the centre of the screen (both up and down not just left and right) then it sounds as though the dynamic focussing is faulty (assuming your model has this feature). Sometimes it is a separate module (with a transistor on a heatsink, that connects to the main PCB via a plug/socket. I wonder if the connection has been accidentally broken ? - I'm going very much out on a limb here because I really am NOT familiar. I do NOT suggest you take the back off and have a look - unless you are qualified to do so. Regards, yt.

Re: Blurry

Hey red

Yes, it is blurry up and down both sides of the screen.

Since I'd prefer not be without a TV for another 3-4 weeks, would you have any idea how much it would cost to get someone to fix something like this? I'd rather pay someone who knows what they're doing than use the company who gave me this lovely new headache!

oh yeah...I'm trying to think of something that would be perfect to show the problem with, like a program you would download to calibrate your PC monitor with... Any ideas?
