JVC telly & Panasonic VCR remote

Hello
I just had delivered a JVC32T5SK telly, great picture BTW, no noticable geometry problems. Just changed a couple of the defaults, i.e. Colour Temp from COOL to NORMAL and for my non digital viewing I changed the 4:3 auto aspect setting from PANORAMIC (why???) to 14:9 ZOOM.

One moan, why can't they have a 14:9 setting ie one that fills the screen top and bottom (not the sides as well obviously), the zoom chops of the top and bottom.

Anyhow, I wuold like to use my old Panny VCR remote to control the telly, but neither of the 2 digit codes suggested by Panny for JVC work, these are 17 & 39.
Does any one have any other numbers to suggest or a work around?

Thanks blu

Why would you want to do that?
The most you'll be able to control would be vol and chan change and standby.

Re: JVC telly & Panasonic VCR remote

With my old Sony telly I could also control teletext from my Panny remote.
If I can control teletext, sound and channels, what else do I need the remote for most of the time?

I use my freeview remote for the didgital stuff.

If you don’t mind saying, where did you purchase your JVC from and what was the service like?

Re: JVC telly & Panasonic VCR remote

Got it from Comet Online £335 including free delivery.

Earliest delivery date was 11 days after the order. It was delivered on the day that I selected, I was telephoned the day b4 to say that they were coming next day and again about 45 min b4 delivery. On delivery the guy advised me how to take it out of the box (the front of the box tears own perforations) and left his name incase there were any probs.

I would give Comet top rating for delivery, as for any other kind of service I hope I never find out

FYI It is impossible to lift and locate on the stand alone, 2 people min prob easier with 3. one to position the stand and 2 to lift. Why are there lead weights inside the case?

Sorry no link, looks like its not there anymore.

They had one on my local comet a few weeks ago but the shop price was about £40 more than online. Still worth it though.

Might be worth keeping an eye on the Comet Clearance site for one. When I was thinking about buying mine there was a boxed 32T there but it had no stand. (Don't know how that happened as the stand is in the same box as the telly)

Just look at all those returned Sammys, wonder what the problem with them was
