TV has died - options?

Hi all

My Philips 28WP6515 (iirc) has started playing sill b*ggers and a bit of research through your forums has shown that the painter chip has gone and its getting worse

So, a replacement is on the cards but it seems that now-days it is quite tricky to buy a 28-32" CRT TV and there is very little choice. I can't really afford to get an LCD/plasma and besides I still prefer the PQ of a CRT (and a CRT fits nicely into the lounge setup).

So, does anyone have any advice for a modern-day CRT shopper?

Thanks for any replies

Re: TV has died - options?

Bloody typical, just finished writing an essay to respond and it locks me out Luckily for you then you have my muchly abbreviated version:

Tosh 32ZP48 (DFS Module prob??)
Panny PD 50 ( errmmm??.....Front Av lines, or lines somewhere else????..Sorry)

Tompson 32WB643 (Teletext probs)

Sony Triniton - Ebay?

Ordering the Tosh tomorrow but getting a five year guarantee with it too...needs it!!

All the above, owners will agree, are fantastic TV's with their own little probs

Good luck

I J

Have you considered getting it repaired?

Hi, read my latest post titled Will I get my telly!!! first before you go here www.buyatdigitalcentre.co.uk. Hopefully its just a number change, but you'll know what I mean when you've read it.

They sell them without stands £600 (clearance) and with a stand £750. A stand on its own costs £100. Or £90 from Tosh UK. I'll let you work that one out!!

They are haggle able as well!! But that counts for jack when I'm still waiting.
