Hi there had this tv for 5 years no problems apart from the dog chewing the remote however after moving it to the bed room as i have upgraded the living room the phillips 32 has started to develop a strange fault and was wondering if anybody else was or were having the same trouble ,first if you press the volume button to go up the led on the tv takes its time to flash also it can increase volume to deafining also changing say from channel 1 to av1 takes a life time,it not the remote or batteries they have all been changed.Any thoughts out there in tv land

I don't know if you are based in the UK but if you are I have just had a painter chip replaced by these people:

http://www.mces.co.uk/ic_fitting_service.htm

And it cost around £80 including postage it took 2 days before I had it back! Excellent service. It fixed the problems I was having (switching channels, 1 scart not working at all and some colour ghosting problems).

I would recommend it to anyone, I love my tele, was glade I could get it fixed for that little! ... I have a 28PW6515 by the way :O)

Incidentally someone who tried to fix my TV for me replaced my painter board with another which fixed my problem with the image but fortunately I noticed that it introduced the problem you are describing so I told him to put it back how it was!!! ... I then got the chip replaced myself. So I am pretty sure it's the painter chip at fault, if you have any other problems like wierdies appearing on screen or the scarts not working then it's definately that chip

Re: Phillips 32pw6515

Just butting in to say "Thanks" for the info... and you're not alone. My 28PW6515 started switching itself off (well, blank picture) and on again and not responding to the remote or the controls on top of the set last night.

Both TV repair shops I've talked to seem confident it's the Painter IC so off to the shop tomorrow and hopefully back as soon as possible since I'm off work with a ready pile of DVDs to watch all next week so if it's not back...
