I have a Philips 21PT5409 21" CRT TV, and ever since I bought it several months ago, it has been making a strange abnormal racket just after switch-on. When I switch the set on, you can hear it making a small noise for a few minutes, then all of a sudden this buzzing sound kicks-in, which gets rapidly louder over the course of a minutes or so, to the point where the volume of it is just crazy, and can be herd well over the volume of the TV, then all of a sudden, bam, the TV falls silent and continues to operate normally.
It sounds to me like this buzzing noise is either coming from the tube or the high voltage circuitry. As the buzzing starts off quiet and gets progressively louder, until it's very loud, and then falls silent, it's like the TV is building-up to somekind of a threshold before it will work properly. Initially, it didn't bother me, but now it's really stating to pee me off.
Does anybody else have this TV, and do you have the same problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I don't know if this TV is supposed to do this or not?
Thank you.
