Bit of a newbe. The 42WH18B or the 36ZP18P.

What do you reckon. Points for and against.

Well, do you want rear projection or CRT?

Don't know. I haven't seen a rear projection TV for years but I've heard most of the problems from a few years ago have been eliminated (to a degree) etc. restritive viewing angle, poor contrast and brightness etc.

Can the rear projection compete image wise with CRT

Depends on your seating arrangement.

And that is where you are going to have to go visit a shop and take a look at the distance and angles that people will be viewing from.

I find that RPTV are better when viewed straight on and not from an angle. And that was the only thing that stopped me going for a RPTV and going with the ZP18P.
