Something that "goes " with the set.

In a perfect world, tall slim and silver.

Not unlike the B & O ones but obviously cheaper.

any ideas?

They also have to be powered by the TV, which at the moment powers 14w speakers. When we were traipsing round the shops they said the TV wouldn't power decent (80w?) speakers and I would need an amp. However if I need an amp I didn't need to buy a TV with Dolby Digital. I already have an amp with Dolby prologic and have stuck the speakers from that on for now but the other half does not think they look aethetically pleasing. (understatement!!) The speakers I have are 80w and they seem OK but obviously not

ALSO

Excuse my naivity.

I have only just realised I can only get Dolby Digital through a DVD Player. I have a PS2 but the Sony connection on the optical wire is differant (typical Sony) to the end on my Toshiba. Does anyone do an optical wire to suit?

I have this set and I went for the pioneer vsx c300 amp with 5.1 surround. I get fantastic sound now. It cost me £600 though. Although i did not tell her that. ill cross that bridge when the Visa statement arrives.

Does that mean that you don't use your toshiba rear speaker? Can I have them!!! I wonder if having 4 toshiba rear speakers will solve my problem, using 2 at the front, two at the rear and the TV as the centre speaker?

Peter,

I've a pair of Toshiba floorstanders designed to go with the Tosh RPTVs that have built in dolby digital sound. I bought them with my TV a couple of years ago and have since upgraded to a separate amp and speaker system. They're not silver (charcoal grey/black and about waist-high) but work very well with the TV's built in amp and gives great dolby digital 5.1 (using the TV's speakers as the centre). If you're interested, let me know.

BTW, I had the same problem when I tried to find a pair of front speakers to go with my TV - most of the salesmen tried to sell me a complete system!
