Question Philips 36PW9527

In a number of other posts in these forums people have mentioned the 36PW9527 that will be available to buy some time in the coming months.

Looking in the Philips brochure and reading the latest What Video & TV magazine, it seems to me that Philips are only releasing the 28" and 32" PW9527's (sporting the new Cybertube). There is no mention of a 36" model coming out as Philips cannot make 36" cybertubes at the moment.

Are the comments regarding the 36PW9527 backed by solid fact, or are they pure wishful thinking/speculation?

I look forward to your responses.

If you search forum with "9527" you find at least 14 Topics about P+ and info about releases.

LG.Philips Display says in their pdf catalogue for release of HD Cybertube this year 2002. Read and dream....

http://www.lgphilips-displays.com/products/index.htm

In their pressrelease from januari it says ; In june the 28/32 and 36PW9527 will be released.

And from "Philips goes on record about use of Panasonic TV tubes" statement 2 may;

"When the new 28/32PW9527 Pixel Plus sets are launched in June we will use the very latest Philips tube across this specific model."

36" HD Cybertube release, 9527, maybe in july, probably in august.

Real-flat Cybertubes

The Technology Center has one production line for Large (28-inch/70-cm) and one line for Jumbo (32-inch/80-cm) color picture tubes, which can produce both 4 by 3 and wide-screen (16 by 9) formats.

During the opening of the factory it was stated that LG.Philips Displays decided to build the third production line in the factory. This line will not be an ordinary tube line - it will be making the most difficult and innovative picture tubes in the world; the state-of-the-art 32" real-flat wide-screen Cybertubes. The new line will be operational at the beginning of 2002, half a year in advance of its original planning (July 2002). As a result of this expansion of capacity, the total number of production lines will be three. The number of employees of the factory will grow to 1200.

Thanks for your feedback ums69.

Looking in the pdf catalogue, it seems that only the Cybertube HD will be available in the 36" variety (not the standard Cybertube).

Is the HD version for US markets only, or will it be available in the UK?
