SCART Connections on Tosh 36ZP48 TV

Hi,
I have a Toshiba 36ZP48 TV with 3 SCARTS & component (amongst others)
Into this I use:
a Grundig 1500T STB
+ PACE STB
+ Panasonic E55 DVD Recorder
+ LiteOn 5002 DVD Recorder.
+ Panasonic VCR

The Grundig STB (2 scarts) connected to Panny E55 and on to EXT 4 (Component)
(2nd Scart from Grundig to EXT 1)
The PACE STB (only one scart) is connected to LiteOn and on to EXT 3
The Panny VCR is connected to EXT 2.

The only niggle, is that when the cheap (& not recommended!!) LiteOn switches on/off, it puts the TV into 'Blank' mode - I lose A & V.

Before I do any irreparable damage, am I right in assuming that cutting pin 8 will cure this ? (I assume just one pin 8 in the LiteOn lead only needs cutting !)

I also have a Toshiba E220 DVD player that isn't connected yet,,, as I can't see a way of doing this - any ideas please ?

Point two is about Audio. I'll try this in another category as well,,, but if you have comments, I'd appreciate them here also.
My TV is capable of Dolby ProLogic as well as Dolby Digital. I thought that ProLogic was the bees’ bendy bits,,,,, but is D.Digital the better/latest option ?
-----:::-----

Have just seen in this forum a bit on SCART connections etc.
Can someone explain the differences between them please ?
I think that 1 & 2 have RGB whilst 3 dosn't ??
In any case, have I got my kit connected properly ?

Any other advice on this superb TV is welcome

many thanks to all
