Philips 28PW6515 Speaker Hum on Bright Picture

I have a Philips 28PW6525 widescreen TV which has had a fault for as long as I can remember.
Basically whenever a bright image is on screen, including the Sky menu banner, a loud hum can be heard from the speakers, this hum increases in volume the brighter the screen image is.

Any suggestions.?

Hi there stewd,

I don't have the same set as you, I have a Thomson 32WM403. However, before I invested in some decent SCART leads I used some very cheap ones lying around the house and had exactly the same problem you describe when viewing bright images.

After replacing the SCART leads with decent quality flat leads (with metal end covers) the problem went away.

The leads I bought were from here. Very good for the money.

This may not help your problem of course but it's one possible solution.

Good luck.

Bye, kozmikoid.
